It’s been four weeks since Championship Weekend, and there hasn’t been much in the way of AUDL news. Nonetheless, on Tuesday, October 5th, the AUDL released all of the major league awards, keeping players, coaches, administrators, and fans on their toes. The Chicago Union came out on top in virtually every category, with a few of honorable mentions thrown in for good measure.
2021 All-AUDL First Team:
Pawel Janas, #55, comes as no surprise. Janas has been selected to the All-AUDL First Team for 2021. Janas appeared in 13 games in 2021, scoring 10 goals, 63 assists, 2 blocks, and completing 97.4% of his passes. Janas is no stranger to honors, having been selected to the All-AUDL Team four times (2017, 2018, 2019, & 2021).
2021 AUDL All-Rookie 1st Team:
Paul Arters, #5, was selected to the AUDL All-Rookie First Team in 2021. Arters appeared in nine games this season, scoring 22 goals, 29 assists, and four blocks while completing 96.8% of his passes. In addition, #2 Eli Artemakis was named to the AUDL All-Rookie 1st Team as an honorable mention. Artemakis appeared in eight games this season, scoring 15 goals, 6 assists, and 1 block while completing 98.7% of his passes.
2021 AUDL All-Defense Team:
Drew Swanson, #15 in the AUDL, was selected to the All-Defense Team. Swanson played 157 minutes and had 20 blocks in nine games. Swanson was the player on the All-Defense Team who appeared in the fewest games and scored the fewest points. Another congrats to #11 Nate Goff, who was chosen to the AUDL All-Defense Team as an honorable mention. Goff had 14 blocks in ten games and a total of 200 points.
Congratulations to all the players on a phenomenal 2021 season! This season will be one that is always remembered.
