The commentators that will be bringing you the action from San Diego have been announced.
Samantha Broaddus, Tyler Kinley, and Becky LeDonne will be the color commentators this weekend.
Samantha Broaddus is the head coach of DC Grit and a two-time national champion with DC Scandal (2013, 2014). She has also competed on an international level, winning bronze at the 2014 World Club Championships and gold with the USA Mixed Beach team in Dubai in 2015. She’ll be coaching the women’s squad in the WCBU next year. In 2015, she was also a coach for the DC Current of Major League Ultimate.
Tyler Kinley, who has worked as a commentator for the American Ultimate Disc League, NexGen, and USA Ultimate, has a diverse playing and coaching resume. He’s a two-time National Championships silver medalist, a two-team WUCC silver medalist, a three-time WCBU gold medalist, and a two-time USAU Coach of the Year award winner. Most recently, he coached at the collegiate and club divisions with High Five and Michigan MagnUM.
Becky LeDonne is the head coach of the PUL’s Milwaukee Monarchs and has coached the University of Wisconsin Hodags for a number of years. She has competed at an elite level for over two decades and is a Club Nationals silver medalist as well as a three-time gold medalist on the international stage with the USA Masters Women’s team. She has been a referee in the AUDL since 2013 and is now the Central Beach Director for USAU.
Keith Raynor, Ian Toner, and Luca Serio will be the play-by-play announcers this weekend.
Keith Raynor is one of the most well-known voices in ultimate, having provided commentary for Ultiworld since 2013. Raynor, a long-time college coach, has a good eye for the game and has been involved in ultimate since his days at Paideia in Atlanta. He’s been a Senior Editor at Ultiworld for five years, and his weekly podcast Deep Look can be heard every week.
Ian Toner is a professional ultimate player, reporter, and broadcaster with over a decade of experience. He’s won a global championship (Team USA U23 2013), a USAU club championship (Johnny Bravo 2014), and a beach national title on four continents (And The Warhawks 2016). Ian has worked on ESPN, Fox Sports, Stadium, AUDL.TV, NexGen, and Ditch ultimate broadcasts in addition to aiding Ultiworld broadcasts and analysis.
Luca Serio is a Portland, Maine native. He played ultimate for Maine Rising Tide and Casco Bay High School before attending Syracuse University to study broadcast journalism and the Chinese language. He captained the Syracuse Doom for three years. Since 2019, Luca has been with Ultiworld. He has broadcasted at many national competitions and sees practically every game Ultiworld films.
